The Beeches Resource Centre is committed to the design, organisation and provision of a modern, high quality person-centred day service that meets the individual needs and personal goals of people with a learning disability.
The Beeches Resource Centre provides individualised support and guidance to service users to help them develop and maintain their practical life skills, social competencies, and increase their employability. The Resource Centre has 54 full time places and offers a service to people with a wide range of abilities and needs. The Resource Centre is used by residents from our own services as well as adults living in the community.
Our work skills training is designed to support people in the early stages of their entry into full or part-time employment. Individual coaching and counselling, basic literacy and numeracy teaching as well as practical work skills training ensures that each service user is able to take full advantage of the employment opportunities presented to them. The training is provided in partnership with the South Eastern Regional College and courses offered include: hospitality and catering, horticulture, construction and ICT. Courses are tailored to be accessible to service users.
Service users can also participate in diversional and leisure activities that entertain and engage in a variety of ways tailored to the age and abilities of each client. We also provide music and art therapy plus a multi-sensory environment.
The Resource Centre comprises an eclectic mix of buildings converted to suit our needs. There are three main buildings with rooms used for a variety of leisure, theapeutic and diversional activities. Other rooms are dedicated to art and crafts, music and multi-sensory activities. We also have an ICT suite with broadband internet access.
